Discover the satisfaction that comes from Serving
The Michigan Defense Force is the third branch of the Michigan Military Establishment along with Michigan Army National Guard and Michigan Air National Guard. All our missions and training are done in Michigan, close to home. When you join, you become part of a tradition of service spanning generations of Michiganders. You’ll drill one weekend a month and attend training events about two weeks per year and experience the satisfaction that comes with service.
Whether you’ve been in the military and want to rejoin, or if you thought you missed your chance to serve, learn about serving in the Michigan Defense Force and serve in your community.
Mission
Though our mission is laser-focused, our service is as varied as the Michigan communities in which we live, train and serve.
